Mamas & Papas Advance Booster Seat Competition

Like many parents, we’ve been through the gambit of baby equipment trying to find something that fits with both our lifestyle and our budget – no easy feat, I assure you. When Ameli started weaning, we used a Bumbo seat sitting on the ground. That worked for a while, but soon we wanted her at…

Shloer Picnic Concert Competition

I’m a big fan of Shloer juices, and always have been. Especially when I was pregnant and hated being the only one at the dinner party without a glass of bubbly, or breastfeeding a 3-month old around Christmas time. (Dear Shloer, please can you bring out a Mulled Wine Shloer in time for this Christmas?)

Pregnancy Week 5 – Nothing To Report

Dear Squidgy I remember when I was pregnant with your sister, there were weeks where it felt like I was in limbo, like nothing was happening. With her, week five wasn’t it. I’d been throwing up for days. With you, however, I get the occasional wave of nausea, and there are foods the thought of…

Peace For Parents – Friday Favourites

My favourite piece of writing* in pretty much all of literary history is the poem ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling. There’s something about his admonitions to his son that speaks to my very heart, and the phrases: “IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If…

Confessions Of A Natural Parenting Expert

I was invited to an event the other day, because as a ‘natural parenting expert’ they valued my opinion. Well, the event came and went, but I’ve been thinking about that whole ˜natural parenting expert’ thing a lot. Here’s a confession for you: I’m not a parenting expert, I’m not a natural parenting expert and…

Pic Of The Week – Week 26

One of the things I’m really loving about watching Ameli grow older is observing her interactions with other children. Just a few months ago I lamented rather conscernedly that she just didn’t interact with other children.

Letter To A 21 Month Old – Dear Ameli

Hello beautiful girl, Yesterday you turned 21 months old, and right now, I think of you and little butterflies flutter in my heart and bring a smile to my face. I wish I could formulate words to tell you how perfect I think you are. Of course, you’re a toddler. You refuse to pick up…

Your Surprise Personalised Book Competition

I am absolutely thrilled about this review and competition today. As a child, I loved reading. I would read rather than ride a bike, or climb a tree. Why would I want to ride down the dusty road of a border town when I could be off exploring a castle with the Famous Five, or…

Finding Out – Baby Talk, Week 4

Hello Baby, I’m your mommy. I found out about you a week ago, and I’ve been wanting to write to you and welcome you, but I must say, I’ve been so busy it’s been hard to sit down and find a gap to form the thoughts in my head into words.

Best Ever Explanation Of Attachment Parenting – Friday Favourites

My Friday Favourite today is an article from The Stir: Attachment Parenting: What It Really Means To Be AP. I really like the way Michele Zipp has explained attachment parenting in this article. Her views are welcoming and non-judgemental, and make me want to be an Attachment Parent (which, thankfully, I am.) I’ve really been…

My Friday Favourite today is an article from The Stir: Attachment Parenting: What It Really Means To Be AP.

I really like the way Michele Zipp has explained attachment parenting in this article. Her views are welcoming and non-judgemental, and make me want to be an Attachment Parent (which, thankfully, I am.)

I’ve really been struggling in this ‘community’ recently, because I don’t feel as though I measure up. My tiredness and workload have meant Ameli’s been watching more DVD’s than I like. My nausea means I’ve not been preparing many wholesome nutritious meals. My energy levels are pretty low (the meals might help!) so playing on the playroom floor with Duplo blocks simply doesn’t appeal to me right now.  And this article was exactly what I needed to hear.
