A while ago I wrote a post about Calpol and why I don’t like it and don’t use it. Since then, I have been asked numerous times what the alternative is. If your child has a fever or febrile convulsions, what should you do? Surely a few e-numbers are a small price to pay?

365-77 to 365-83 A Week in Pictures
We had a slightly busier week, although illness is still firmly imprinted on our household. Nonetheless, a visit to the in-laws in Somerset, a quick stop-in at a local art gallery, a trial day in cloth nappies and a product launch for shoes to make you skinny while eating cupcakes made it all pass really quckly.
E45 Giveaway and Eczema Resources
Yesterday I shared with you the main points covered by speakers at the Against Childhood Eczema Launch event in London. Today I’d like to continue by looking at some of the suggestions they offered and what to avoid, as well as the products recommended by the representative from the National Eczema Society, Margaret Cox and Dr Steve Hewitt, a skin specialist for E45
Uncomfortable Truths about Childhood Eczema
My mom suffers from eczema. Actually calling her skin condition eczema is like calling the Sistene Chapel a painting: somewhat of an understatement. I’ve been blessed to never suffer much from eczema myself, yet unfortunate enough to see the effects of it in its worst form. Whenever my daughter, Kyra, develops as much as a spot, my heart skips a beat and my stomach clenches and I watch the redness till it goes away, so afraid am I that this condition may have skipped a generation and passed on to her.

365-24 Sunday Reading
Hardly moved out of bed today, doing my best to conquer this cold. So here’s what kept us busy! I was reading “Toxic Childhood” by Sue Palmer, The Digital Photography Handbook by Doug Harman and in between reading nursery rhymes with (to?) Kyra!
The Privilege of Parenting
Today has truly tested my faith and beliefs. Watching my little girl throwing up clear slime, hearing her cough, listening to her raspy breathing and feeling completely helpless to fix what’s wrong, as I don’t really know what’s wrong. Unfortunately I have a rather iffy relationship with my GP and unless I really can’t do anything to improve the situation, would rather not go there.
Hyperemesis Gravidarum
I have not written anything in a while. Not because there’s nothing to write, but because once things are down in black and white, it becomes impossible to take them back. If said, you can always deny the charge, but once written they stay written forever.
